Petula Clark scored a US No. 1 in January with “Downtown,” and she returned in May to No. 6 with her ode to nightclubs, “I Know a Place.” The song takes a line from the title of Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein’s memoir, A Cellarful of Noise, about the Cavern Club, where he discovered the group.
